Raising Sand Radio airs progressive themes and topics that are picked up around the US and the world via our Internet archive.
Host Susan Galleymore brings a unique perspective to this weekly show. Born in apartheid South Africa, she continues to visit that country regularly, lived in Israel for two years in the late 1970s, and has lived in California's San Francisco bay area for thirty years. She is author of Long Time Passing: Mothers Speak about War and Terror, founder of Motherspeak, a "military mom" and a GI Rights counselor who also works in the technology fields.
Galleymore says of Raising Sand Radio, "This show is an expression of love and respect for the people and communities of our world. Our goals are to increase awareness about the world we all share, to examine how socio-political policies affect the lives of ordinary people, and to energize ordinary people toward extraordinary actions and ways of being. You can help us highlight the ideas and views expressed by our guest experts by sharing our shows with your friends, by donating financially to our work or by volunteering your unique skills."
